Here is my dormitory diary entry for January.

I hope to earn your support in 2023.

How did everyone spend their New Year's holidays? I returned to my hometown on December 30th and spent time with my friends. Although, I never got a chance to visit a shrine for the first of the year (as is the tradition in Japan). My reasoning was if I caught COVID from being in a crowd of people, then I wouldn't be able to work, so I decided not to go.

Before I moved to Tokyo last year, I used to go to shrines and temples quite often, but now, if I don’t go on the first day of the year, I find that I’m not motivated to go at all.

Next year, I hope to be able to do my New Year’s shrine visit in a more low-key environment.

1月の寮生日記です。

遅くなってしまい大変申し訳ございません。

あけましておめでとうございます。

今年もよろしくお願いします。

みなさまお正月はどうお過ごしでしたか？私は去年の12月30日から実家へ帰省していました。

友人たちと会って遊ぶことはあったものの今年は初詣を行かなかったです。混むだろうなぁ、人混みに行ってまたコロナになったら仕事ができないから、、、と行くのをやめてしまいました。

去年の上京する前は神社仏閣に割と行っていたのですが初詣行かずにいたら行きづらくなりそうですね。

来年のお正月は空いてる神社を探して初詣に行きたいです。
