February Dormitory Diary Entry - Yamaguchi (Patreon)

Thank you very much for your support. This is Yamaguchi.

I can’t believe it’s already February. This month marks my one-year anniversary since moving into my current place, which is conveniently located near my studio.

It’s also close to my old school.

Around this time last year, I felt a mixture of loneliness, anxiety, and excitement about starting a new life and entering society.

I’d like to think I’ve gotten better at drawing since then.

Okay… maybe not MUCH better.

I’d like to have more confidence in my skills, but regardless, the fact that I'm being paid to create motivates me to do good work, no matter how small.

However, every time I see the part of any completed anime that I worked on, I can't help but reflect and think, "I should have done this better,” which I actually think is vital for my improvement.

お世話になっております。山口です。

2月になりました。

学校の近くから会社に通いやすい今の家に引っ越してきてちょうど1年経ちました。

去年の今頃は卒業を迎える寂しさと新生活への不安と社会に出ることへの高揚感が綯い交ぜになっていたことを覚えています。

その時から絵が上達したような…そうでも無いような…

相変わらず自信をつけるには至っていませんが、お金を貰っているという事実は少しでも良いものを作ろうという意識につながっています。

しかしやっぱり、完成したアニメの自分が担当した箇所を見る度に｢もっとこうすればよかったな｣と反省してばかりです。

今後お仕事を続けていく中で自分の作業に慣れていってもこの気持ちは忘れたくないなと改めて思いました。
