I understand that animators aren't voice actors, but this sounds like text-to-speech. It *is* text-to-speech, isn't it? Why aren't you bringing the animators in to talk?

Yoshimi Yamagata Aoyagi

Hello. Thank you for your feedback. We hire Japanese voice actors to voice all individuals in every Animator Dormitory video. We do not use text to speech. Also, we do not ask that any actual animators themselves speak in our videos. The reason is that our channel speaks about many of the industry’s most corrupt aspects, which is information that many officials would rather keep secret. Using the natural voices of the animators during video production could result in job termination should their identities be leaked. The Japanese anime industry is extremely tight-lipped, as such, animators risk losing their jobs if they speak about what goes on behind the scenes. For these reasons, we take various steps to ensure that any animator who partners with us has their personal information protected.

So are these stories fictional then? Presumably Bones could find out who that Skate animator who received a retainer fee was.

Yoshimi Yamagata Aoyagi

No. All stories are 100% true and written by animators. Studios like BONES themselves are not necessarily who animators need protection from. We've taken considerations as to what information we can and cannot release.
