April Dormitory Diary Entry - Ura Takazumi (Patreon)

This is my dormitory diary entry for April.

On April 1st, I started new-hire training at my new studio.

I was nervous because I interviewed online, so this was my first time actually going to the studio in person. Everyone at the studio was kind enough to welcome me though. I was especially glad because many of the senior animators around my age were cheerful and spoke to me in a friendly manner.

My training regimen seems to be the following: Tracing, lip-syncing, blinking, in-betweens for basic movements, walking, running, turning, bending, etc. We started with tracing. We trace over keyframes, but it’s actually really hard. My lines get shaky and my line density goes all over the place. I got some reference books for tracing, but those drawings are so beautiful that it’s hard to believe that a human even drew them... I gotta step up my game. We’re training on pen and paper for a few reasons, but I heard that we’re gonna move to digital. I think drawing clean lines is gonna be really important when we make the switch, so I wanna give all I got to this training.

4月の寮生日記です。

4月1日より会社に入って新人研修が始まりました。

面接はオンラインで行なったので会社に直接来るのは初めてで緊張しましたが、会社の皆さんが優しく迎え入れてくださいました。特に若いアニメーターの先輩方は明るい人が多く、気さくに話しかけてくださって嬉しかったです。

研修の内容としては、トレス、ロパク，目パチ、タップ割り、歩き、走り、振り向き、なびきと順番に進めていくようです。まずトレスからはじまりました。原画の線を上からなぞるのですが、線がふるえたり、線の濃淡がバラバラだったりと、かなり難しいです。見本のトレスを見せていただいたのですが、本当に人間が描いたのだろうか．．．？と思うようなキレイな線で、頑張らないといけないなと思いました。今は訳あって研修はアナログでしていて、そのうちデジタルになる予定ですが、線をキレイに引くことはデジタルでも大事になってくると思うので、頑張りたいです。
