May Dormitory Diary Entry - Okumura (Patreon)

Hello, this is Okumura. Here's my diary entry from May.

At our studio, "Otsukaresama" is the default greeting. It's nice because it doesn't give me the chance to nervously flub and say "Konnichiwa" in the dead of night...

(Translation note: Japanese has 3 different greetings typically. Ohayō for the morning, Konnichiwa for noon, and Konbanwa for evenings. It's really easy to slip up and use the wrong greeting when you're nervous, so saying "Otsukaresama" (Thank you for your hard work) eliminates the possibility of this embarrassment).

My commute home perfectly coincides with my local supermarket's closing time, so I've been saving sweet potatoes from the half-price bin almost every day.

I buy them so often that I find myself becoming familiar with the cashiers. They probably remember me, too. Sometimes, I worry they've nicknamed me.

Perhaps they call me "the discount sweet potato lady."

Sweet potatoes are delicious, so I wouldn't mind.

I plan to keep eating them until I can't no more.

Continuing my drawing progress from last time, this drawing is just me adapting my favorite manga to a more 'commercial anime' style.

The manga is 'Tsuruko no Ongaeshi,' and you can read it on Jump+.

A friend from the same industry lives nearby, so we chat about once a week.

Even though we both work in anime, the training content and environment vary from company to company, so I always hear something new from them. It's refreshing to hear, and it's nice to have someone close by that I can talk so casually with.𓅹

会社の挨拶はデフォルトでお疲れ様なので

夜なのにこんにちはと言ってしまったと焦ることもないので良いですね。

帰りの時間が丁度スーパーの閉店時間と重なって半額シールが貼られてた焼き芋たちを毎日レベルで救っています。

ただ、毎日買うことによりこの店員昨日も見たな~と思うということは、あちらも自分のことを覚え始めているのではないかと思い半額芋女などとあだ名付けられているのかなと被害妄想を膨らませることも有るけれど、焼き芋が美味しいのでオールオッケー飽きるまでしばらく焼き芋食べます

前回に引き続きこの絵は好きな漫画を勝手にアニメっぽくしてるだけです。鶴子の恩返しという漫画なのですが、ジャンプ＋で読めるのでオススメです♪

同じ業界の友達が近くに住んでいるので週一くらいで情報交換をしたりしています

アニメ会社といっても会社ごとに、研修内容や周りの環境が違い話を聞いていて新鮮に思います。近くにいると、どんな話でも気軽に話しかけられるのが良いですね。𓅹
