Hi everyone!
Hope your week has gone well.
Made good progress in getting back into The Bindmancer this week. Lets talk about what I got up to!
1: What's New?
So this week I was a mixture of some off-screen production work (Estimating future tasks and things I need to contract out.) and some solid dev-work on the Bindmancer.
A new build is available for those who want to play it!
To run through what got done this week:
- There a new level select screen art. Including an intro scene to the tower of desires.
- I tweaked the player attack response timing to allow attacks to be hit more rapidly. This was done because I think some attacks where not registering as hits previously when attacks where made more rapidly.
- Decreased the animation time for cultists being forgiven and released once defeated to make the gameplay better. They where lingering on a tile for too long.
- Tweaked the "Release or Punish" UI for defeated cultists. It was a bit odd to just have it in the right corner of the UI.
- Experimenting with moving the beat UI for trying to free wall-mounted prisoners. Further work will be done on this as I need to improve the positioning of the UI for maximum visibility.
2: What's Next?
For next week I'll be doing a large collection of rough sketches for all the yet-to-be-filled lore entries that are present in the game. One alone of these isn't time consuming but I need to create about 16 of them. Hahah!
Once I get these sketched out I'll be able to contract out these sketches to fellow artists and writers to bring a lot of art quality, written lore, and life to the game!
