Hi Everyone!

I hope you've been happy and heathy!

There's a lot of little bits of progress to talk about this roundup so I'll get into it!


First we have a quick update on the build itself:


1: New Bindmancer Build Addresses Big Bug

There's an updated build available for the bindmancer that addresses a level-creation bug that's been present since the game had randomized dungeons in December.

It was rare to occur but previously segments of randomized dungeon could "Stamp" on top of eachother and create unwinnable level layouts.

I've now put in extra logic in the level creation process which stops this from happening. So levels should load up complete!


2: What else is New?

I did my Taxes:

A small point, but accounted here because it took up my Sunday and Monday to work through and submit it for 2021. 

As much as we don't enjoy paying taxes, a happy tax man makes for a happy business. So my responsibilities are paid up and I'm financially stable to blaze through 2022!


Reaching out to contractors

Time was taken this week as well to start reaching out to artists and my musician friend to contract out some key work.

Right now I'll be looking to contract out:

1: A better high-detail background art for the level select screen.

2: More music tracks : One for the level select screen and more for dungeon levels.

3: Sketch work-like images to illustrate the Lore entries found in-game.

4: Writers to fill out the lore and narrative prose of the lore entries.


Working on narrative outlines

Documentation work was done to outline the structure and some lore related to the Bindmancer's mission in the dungeon and some logic surrounding the dungeon itself.

New OC designs

Part of working on the narrative was designing the 5 hero prisoners that the Bindmancer is on a quest to free.

Each hero is the objective you're playing for in each of the games 5 separate wings. (We currently have the environmental art for 1 wing.)

Each hero has their own reasons and follys for entering and being trapped by the dungeon.


Concepting the Next Animation Set - Isabelle - Compliment Clicker

I'm also looking towards the next animation set. I'd like to get one out around mid April - early may or so.

This one would be focused on Isabelle and I've had an idea stewing for a while I want to execute on. 

It's a very simple idea: Make an animation set focused around complimenting and flirting with a character. In this case it'll be around complimenting Isabelle: Because she's such a good girl. <3

The tone of this animation set is aiming to be equal parts cute, sexy, and silly.

I need to develop the idea further. But what do people think? Are we up for something on the very silly and cute end of tone?

Given how grim the world in general has been, I think we all deserve something just pleasant and happy in tone.


3: What's Next?

Next week is going to be a duel focus of getting more of the contractor work sorted out, so people can get to work sooner rather then later.

In addition I think I'll dedicate some time to fleshing out the Isabelle animation set more. Define its stages of progression better.

Who's a good girl~

Ah taxes, the burden of every person. Glad thats over then and focus on the more fun stuff. Very busy scedual but structure is needed for these wonderfull plans. I would say yes for more fun and silly cute stuff. Hopefully it gets equal love to all the other creations. Make her feel appreciated and wanted as the good girl she is.
