Never understood the hate for this movie. Yeah the romance was a little off, but it wasn't bad? In terms of movie accuracy, mostly all was true including "The Doolittle Raid" It was the first American air operation to strike the Japanese archipelago. Although the raid caused comparatively minor damage, it demonstrated that the Japanese mainland was vulnerable to American air attacks. Also the presidents speech after the attack "Yesterday, December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy" - is a very famous speech. I'd recommend giving midway a watch, it's about pearl without the romance, very good movie to watch.
