The plot with the black fish is for me a good example for some plots here and there that don't make a lot of sense starting with this season. The show is now further ahead then the books so the show writers had to come up with some plots of their own, which IMO is not their strong suit. This whole journey of Brienne travelng to the Riverlands was kind of pointless, not only for her but for the overall plot. We all know these kind of filler stories from other shows without or with limited source material but we expect better from GOT. But the main story is roughly as the author of the books intended it and is still great though and season 6 is my favourite season overall.

The Tully's rule the Riverlands. There main seat is the castle Rverrun. At the start of GOT Hoster Tully is the current lord of Riverrun and the Riverlands. He was Catelyn, Lysa and Edmures Father. Brynden Tully, the Black fish, was Hosters's brother. So when Hoster died the son inherited before the brother like anywhere else in Westeros, so Edmure was always the heir for riverun. Until the castle was granted to the second most powerful lord in the riverlands, Walder Frey. Before that the Frey's where vassals of the Tullys. So even though Rob did not marry one of Walder Freys daughters, Walder Frey would have gotten the next best thing. Before Rob was called King in the North, which did not really increase his dominion or power, he was just one of the High Lords of Westeros just like Hoster Tully.

Man what a badass episode. Arya finally kills that bitch, the Hound gets revenge, Danny is back and Cersie is fucked. One of the most badass Cersie moments in the whole show, "I choose violence". Idk what those sparrows were thinking lol. My God I can't wait for the next 2. I too wanted to see the Blackfish fight but I get why they didn't do a big fight scene with that. They spent a ton on this season and actually went pretty far over budget. This also happened in season 1. The battle against the 2000 Stark men where Tyrion gets knocked out was fully played out on the books. He doesn't get koed and fights with the tribesmen, kills some people and survives. They couldn't afford a battle scene as they had a pretty small budget for that season. Sometimes they gotta pick and choose what to leave in and take out. The reason Arya could beat the Waif in the dark was bc she was blind for a while and learned to better use her other senses. Just think, this season only gets better.

Agreed. I like the siege of Riverrun storyline overall. I think the whole Brienne going here plot was simply to get her in the same place as Jamie for a scene. I think it would have made sense to keep the Blackfish around and have him help Sansa but there could be many reasons as to why the character had to go and I'm not sure what that reason was. This is my favorite season as well. Not a bad episode in my opinion and the choice to bring back the Hound was the right one. The one thing I really wish we got was Lady Stoneheart. Just imagine her out there running around with the brotherhood. They said they didn't do it bc they knew at the time they were bringing Jon back and they wanted to limit the number of people that came back from the dead lol.
