Everything I expected and more. You caught everything and made pretty much all the observations we hoped you would. You not only realized the importance of the multiple layers of messaging this story has, but even made it a point to focus on it. All singing was live and not lipsyncd, which is very rare for a movie musical. The producer and director pretty much gave the actors free reign to do it their own way, and singing live in real time allowed them to make their acting choices in the moment rather than having to match themselves up with the best "audio take" from the recording studio. And you can see the clear result.....as you said, breathtaking. Rewatching again with the wife tonight. Thanks again, bro.

The priest that invited Jean Valjean in for food and shelter is played by Colm Wilkinson. He, in my opinion, is the best Valjean ever. He and Philip Quast (he will make you cry as Javert singing Stars). Their performances during the 10th anniversary of Les Mis is on YouTube.

Just finished. This was a great reaction. The songs in this musical always give me the chills. The first version I ever saw the the 10th anniversary performance on PBS. It is excellent. Definitely worth a look if you get a chance. It has stuck with me for years. That’s why I was biased against this movie when I heard they were making it but I’ve come to appreciate the performances.

Dope as always bro, this is definitely the most experiential musical I've seen and your breakdown of it was spot on of course. Enjoyed the reaction as always
