Theres a lot of good things in this movie. But its just not a great movie imo. A lot of holes in this movie. Doesnt really make a lot of sense that Cyberdyne is intending on making cyborgs before the apocalypse. Particularly when considered that Skynet had been using Terminators.. plastic covered ones... for a while, and created cyborgs as infiltration units. The idea that someone like Marcus was a reverse engineered cyborg for Skynet is fine. But makes no sense signing his life away in 2003... and then apparently sat in a lab for 15 yrs? And the idea of a death list... oof. John Connor kind of alludes to there having been something thats changed, so that sort of explaims how they know Reese is a high target. But its not explained at all how they have intel that hes valuable(Connors dad). But regardless, hes #1 on the list. Connor is #2. They capture Reese, #1 on the kill list. And instead of killing him, they use him as bait, to get the #2 target? Oy vey... and a criticism Ive had for a long time. Not a major flaw here(tho it holds relevance). A T800 is that specific endoskeleton. The Model 101 is Arnold. There are other models(as evidenced in Reeses dream in T1). But every T800 we see is Arnold. I understand using his iconlgraphy. But hes an infiltration model. Having every T800(and coincidentally the random one off the assembly line) be Arnold kinda negates the point of having multiple models and their being infiltrators. Cuz if the resistance cant pick the Terminator out of a crowd being that they all seem to look the same... yea.. its not the best infiltrator. Imo maybe 2 of em come out and one looks like Arnold so ya kmow exactly what it is. Or in the background see a 100 on the line w every 3 looking like Arnold.

Meant to do another paragraph. It should be noted. This movie is schizophrenic. And it csnt make up its mind if its Marcus' film or Connors film. Demonstrated at its worst, when theres a narrative monologue by Marcus, and then by Connor at the end. A narrativr monologue is supposed to be by the stories central figure. And this one does two at the end. And this delves into the production woes of this film. It was never supposed to be centered around Connor. This was supposed to be a film solely centered on Marcus and Kyle. W Connor only being a voice on the radio until they meet closer to the finale. They courted Bale for Marcus. He didnt have interest in the role but expressed interest in Connor. So, they rewrote the script heavily, and bolstered the Connor role for Bale, since Bale was a huge get, and his star pretty much at his highest at the time. But what we got was a film narrative split between the original intention and the new rewrite. Hoping to still focus om the unknown Terminator Marcuz... and Kyle journeying to find John Connor.

Definitely get a lot of those for sure but if you just kick back and don’t dig too deep it’s for sure enjoyable

Love this movie cuz of the actor variety and showing the war then next two movies are both not really sequels to 3 but sequels to judgement day both set in an alternate timeline

I love this movie. I think Christian Bale is what John Connor is supposed to be. Even though John in the 3rd movie hadn’t been through the war yet Nick Stahl just never came across to me as someone that would grow into the John in Salvation. I love that they circled around the beginning and we get to meet Kyle. RIP Anton Yelchin.

This is the end of the timeline making sense. T3 and Salvation may be meh movies but better than what came since.
