That was great. I really wish you would watch the whole series. I think you could get a lot out of it. The original series movies are often considered to be superior to the original TV show, but that isn't so with The Next Generation. The TV series is definitely better in this case. I would stay subscribed for the whole series if you decided to do it. There are certainly some bad episodes, and season one is a bit rough, but I think there is a lot of good stuff even in some of the more cringeworthy episodes. It's a thoughtful series that touches on some really cool ideas and some interesting moral conundrums.

The game they're playing is 3D Chess. It's a real variant of classic chess. Look it up! It's cool. Q is basically a Jester. Neither good nor bad, sometimes comic relief. Although he likes to piss people off, he has done good things on a whim before.
