So a little story I would want to say seasons 1-3 were animated by WIT studio and AOT was they’re first anime but at the same time they didn’t wanted to be known as the AOT studio as a matter of fact from what I could find AOT season 2 is the only sequel that they actually made and because of how amazing they did season 1 they ended up doing season 2 but because they didn’t planned on more seasons of AOT and already planned on doing different anime’s it took them 4 years to come back for season 2 and it should also be noted that after they made AOT season 2 they didn’t stop and immediately started making season 3 but because of the schedule they had to split it into 2 parts and keep in mind some scenes like Levi vs Kenny took 1 month and Levi vs Beast Titan was 4 months (all done by 1 guy with Levi vs Beast Titan done by the same guy but had 2 people to help) and Kodansha (the owners of AOT) wanted them to make the Final season in a year understandable WIT couldn’t handle the production anymore so they chose to give AOT to another studio and with other studios knowing the hellish production and schedule of AOT all studios that they could get in contact with understandably said no except for studio MAPPA at first they said “we’ll think about it” but ended up doing AOT where WIT publicly says they have trust in them should also be in mind they had less than a year to make season 4 part 1 and because of that they did what any studio would do they outsourced to anyone and everyone that is or could be available to help with AOT like they were outsourcing globally I don’t know this is true so take this with a grain of salt but MAPPA might have asked if they could have an extra year to make a proper adaptation of the final season and were denied the Canipa Effect and Totally not Mark goes into much more detail about the production but overall AOT has the curse of a hellish production and I wanted to give a “little” info about the studio change
