The witch Mirri Maz Duur gave a strict warning to Dany during the blood magic ceremony that nobody should enter the tent. However, one Dany went into labor, none of the dothraki midwives wanted to assist so Mormont takes her into the tent in spite the strict warning not to interrupt. Thus, the spell eventually took baby instead "only death could pay for life". Clearly Mirri was working a way so that the prophecy of the Stallion Who Mounts the World wouldn't come true considering what the Dothraki did to her people.

So, another clarification that's not a spoiler through this episode. Not sure who Theon is to you two but he's not Ned's son and not a bastard. Cant remember what's revealed regarding him at this point so will just leave it at that but wanted to mention it like i did with Jorah Mormont and the Night Watch Commander cuz shit be complicated and potentially confusing.

Almost a full decade later, and that KING IN THE NORTH scene still gives me full-body chills. It's obviously much more complicated than this, but I love the stark contrast between two rulers who come into power in this episode: one by virtue of the love and trust of his people, and the other by birthright who treats his people as his playthings. (I also kind of love how "FUCK IT, WE'RE DOING AN EXPEDITION BEYOND THE WALL" is the mark of a true leader in both this and Attack on Titan. Mad Erwin flavor)
