Since there are so many different paths for the Halloween series and not all connect which would you guys rather us do?

2018 one is direct sequel to original film and only canon, so I would go with 2018 one.

I'd just say the 2018 version. Not that there's anything horribly wrong with the other films but most don't count towards canon, and some are just a chore to watch with little payoff, to me at least. No offense to anyone that likes them

I would also like to recommend you at least check out the Rob Zombie remake, I think you and your girlfriend might like it

If end up watching more, easier way I saw it is, That all movies after First one are their own sequels.

If you watch the 2018 version (direct sequel to original) you'll be able to watch next years sequel and the one they're making after that.

No you defo gotta check out Halloween 2 1981. some people even think its better than the original first movie. i wouldnt bother with 3. 4 was good. 5 is a sequel to that was average at best. 6 was poor. 7 H20 is a sequel to halloween 2. 8 is terrible. Halloween 2018 I personally didnt care for.

Maaaaaan, I love Halloween 2 just for the fact of whenever you follow Mikey, H40 is good but way to similar to the Original. I have to say Halloween 2 because it's the original sequel. Either is fine tho

To me, Halloween 1, Halloween 2 and Halloween: H20 are the holy trilogy, totally ignore the rest of the sequels, maybe the 2018 too. I didn't really care for that one as well, because yeah it was OKAY sequel but its still feel like a rehash of the original with a few changes and updated, I felt little bit disappointed, so I agree, he should react to the 2nd film from '81 and then H20 for last.

To me, the best answer is to just quit with Halloween 1 and do something else. There are SO MANY horror films to check out.
