I love this movie so much, it's my all-time favorite and I'm glad I'm not alone. As a comics nerd the movie delivers in spades and is chock full of easter eggs and references. The movie is loosely based on the event that happened in Marvel comics called "Spider-Verse" where a bunch of Spider-People got together to defend against these vampire type enemies that ate Spider-People. Miles first appeared before this though, in the ultimate universe. In Marvel there are infinite universes, the main canon comics on is 616. In the Ultimate comics, it told the story of a different Marvel universe, Earth 1610, and like in the movie it had it's own Peter Parker, along with the rest of the Marvel gang like Cap and Iron Man. When Peter died Miles became Spider-Man very similarly and was the Spider-Man of his universe for a while before an event called Secret Wars, which collided the two universes. Now Miles and Peter are BOTH Spider-Man, in the same world, at the same time, and it's pretty cool. Another little fact is that Gwen is from Earth 65, but is able to portal to the main earth when she wants. I won't talk any more Gwen facts, alternate or main universe, in case you do end up watching The Amazing Spider-Man, she's a main character there played by Emma Stone. I highly recommend The Amazing Spider-Man, it's my favorite live-action spidey movie and I feel like it does Peter's personality best compared to the comics. The second isn't as good as the first, but they are both enjoyable in my opinion. Ok that's all, thanks for the great reactions and I hope you read this.

Some more facts and details since my hands are free while I watch: - All the Spider-People are real characters found in the comics -Spider-Gwen was made for the Spider-Verse event but she was so liked that they ended up giving her her own series -The original inspiration for Miles was actually Donald Glover! Before The Amazing Spider-Man came out some people were calling for Donald to play Peter Parker. While this didn't happen, the people over at Marvel took inspiration for a black Spider-Man and made Miles, who is half Black half Puerto Rican -You can even see a clip of Donald Glover in Community Season 2, Episode One on Uncle Aarons TV when we first meet him -Spider-Man Noir is voiced by Nicolas Cage, and Spider-Ham is voiced by the comedian John Mulaney -The Billboards have a ton of easter eggs and details, like Steph Curry as a pro golfer, a Chance the Rapper ad along with a poster of him in MIles' bedroom, the "Red Man Group", Seth Rogan riding a horse, and an ad for "The Mary Janes" which is Gwen's band that she mentioned -In the Spider-Cave, some of the vehicles and suits shown are from various Spider-Man stories. The Jeep was in a comic a long time ago, while among the suits are the Insomniac PS4 suit and other references That's all I can think of right now, but this movie has so many details and is so good, I find something new everytime I watch it.
