Eleven actually did open the gate it just wasnt on purpose and the bad guys messing with things they shouldn't. & Mike actually wasnt just hitting Hopper because of El. It's because hes a kid going through so much right now, Bob, Will,El, the end of the world possibly, he was just letting it all out and chose hopper to take it out on at first, once he found out about El being hidden...& No Billy actually wouldnt actually hit Max, he punishes her with his words and breaks her things like her skateboard, which shes was taping up in previous episode. Billy's the only one being abused physically....also all the lights going bright was because of all the powerful energy El was creating to close the gate. She created a great amount of energy when screaming at the monster in season 1, which is why the gate open/tear between world just like the science teacher explained before in s1.

Don't look up ANY season 4 trailers until you finish season 3! They have MASSIVE spoilers that i promise you dont want to see. Can't wait for season 3 your gonna flip the fuck out!

So just to let you know without spoiling, subtitles are gonna be neccesary in season 3 if you want to understand some stuff. All I will say is this. If you don't see subtitles by themselves within the first scene of the next season, then please turn them on manually. Netflix has got subtitles and they're very helpful for this show.

S2 was so underrated imo! And I agree for the unnecessary hate towards ep7. It was an important arc, and a great character development for Eleven's. And so much amazing acting from almost all of the casts, but especially coming from Will's actor Noah Schnapp! Phenomenal *chef's kiss* acting like holy shit he carried s2 on his back all by himself like a damn boss def my fav season, hands down. S3 is also quite good! It has amazing and "Eh" moments but STILL! Can't wait for that!
