Do you want the Random Wheel to be something regular while you wait for the monthly pics, even tho it could mean less pics at the end of the month?

I think the wheel is a good idea if the month's project is going to take up the entire month, like the manga did. but if it's a typical month that has two smaller, separate projects (one in the middle and one at the end of the month) then i think it's fine to just leave it at that
