What is Overpriced Selling?

Overpriced selling is a whole trading method around the concept of Lazy Listing. It’s just listing popular, in-demand or low-risk cards for higher prices than they are and hoping to get some sales.

This method is originally from the German FIFA community, they started to use this in the early stages of FIFA 18 and improved it throughout the last few years. It’s a great method in a rising market and strong with some long-term investments.

This method has many similarities with Tech Avion but I think this method is better prepared for rough market days and sudden market changes.

When to use this method?

This method works best in a rising market as everything you buy will eventually rise. A holding market is also very decent, there's barely a risk of losing coins and you can relist every hour for the same prices. A down-trending market is the worst time to use this and we recommend avoiding it during a dropping market such as Black Friday.

You can find the current market situation in every daily update post, it's always one of the first parts. If you are still not sure if you can use this method in the current market, feel free to just ask me.

In general, you can use this trading method with every trade and investment as long as you are within the selling window.

How to select the right players?

First of all, there isn’t a set plan of “perfect players”. All you do is aim for the most hyped, most popular, and most in-demand cards in the current market. The alternative option would be going for cheap cards near discard value as they offer less risk but also a slow rise. Also important to mention is that this method is exclusively for Special Cards.

Great tools to find popular cards are on Futbin. The popular section is the easiest way to find the current most popular cards. However, it’s still important to grab good deals around a low point to make the most profit with the least risk. Buying inflated cards is not recommended.

There's also a smaller Fire icon on the Futbin Player Page (like 3rd last of the toolbar). That shows the most popular cards since the first day. That can help to identify long-term risers and these are great for overpriced selling too.

Alternatively, you aim for cards around the discard value. Even better if these cards have some upvotes on Futbin too. You can find these cheap cards through the squad selection menu or the PGP page.

After that, you ideally fill your whole transfer list with cards to relist every hour, the perfect method for people with 1-2 hours each day. Some of the German traders who perfectionated the method are working in office jobs and can relist it the whole day.

Relisting every hour is very key for this trading method, it increases the chance of a buyer and allows you to rebuy cards more frequently.

Also worth mentioning, it's recommended to spread your buys across multiple cards, ideally only one of each. That allows you to cover more of the market and reduce risks if a card drops.

How to sell them?

Exactly like explained in the Lazy Listing guide.

All the tricks explained there are working for this method! I even know some German Traders who specifically aimed to get 100k deals by listing cards 100k over the normal prices. That is some aggressive overpriced selling and I recommend sticking with the general idea of 10-30% but you can give it a try to test your luck.

Most importantly, find your way to make the most out of this method. It doesn’t matter which technique you use as long as you make profits. If you struggle with profits then it's smart to visit the older guides and to try some other techniques.

Extra notes

Mix with other Methods

This method is another method that easily works with other techniques. As an example, you can try out some Special Card flipping and mix it with overpriced selling to get a tiny bit more out of your flips.

As mentioned earlier, Tech Avion has many similarities with this trading method and many French Traders use Overpriced Selling in current variations of Tech Avion.

Mixing with Rarity

Most of the popular cards also have a lot of supply, which makes Overpriced Selling a bit tougher. Finding popular but also rare cards can help too, most commonly from older promo squads such as OTW.

Knowing when to sell

As the FUT market changes quickly and some stuff is just not predictable, it's very common that you end up in a situation with your cards stuck on your transfer list while facing a potentially decreasing market. That’s another common mistake with this method, sometimes you must move forward and take the break-even or tax loss to just free up coins.

As a general rule, if you are in overall profit and you can escape any risk, then just sell and take the easy way. It's also fair to say that more expensive cards have a higher risk than cheaper cards.

Less time-consuming

It's one of the least time-consuming methods. You could theoretically just grab 100 cards every morning and relist through the whole day.

Make use of this and try to fill your transfer list every day and make sure to relist as many times as possible each day.

January/February until the end

Winter Wildcard Price Movements

This method has its peak efficiency from around December/January until March/April. That’s due to the fact of more calm days but also more special cards being out of packs already. You are facing a tiny bit of a risk with any new content/promo but that’s something you always must consider while trading.

Cards on the lower end and from smaller leagues can be a great shout around these times as we get many different Objectives and Foundations for different leagues. That increases your chance of making a profit.

Summary

- Trading Method based on the concept of Lazy Listing

- Recommended on a rising or holding market

- Relist every hour

- Easy to mix with other concepts/methods

- Most consistent after December/January
