In many of the deep places of the world, those beings that for want of choice, will of their foul gods or aversion to the sun's rays have constructed crude civilisations amongst the tunnels of fissures that run beneath our blessed land.

Though strictly outlawed by Royal Decree, traders have been known to venture into such foul places in search of precious metals and gems plucked from the earth. It is from their scattered reports that I have been able to compile this conceptualised rendering of what I reluctantly call a 'market'.

Considered neutral ground among the various barbarous races that exist beneath our feet, the barndasing of weapons, or in many cases, claws is strictly forbidden. One who flouts such a simple statute is apparently immediately set upon by all in adentance without trial or judge.

But is one abides by the rules, it is said that all manner of trinkets and things of a less than savoury nature can be found at such places. Thriving slave markets as well as abhorrent witches selling potions that might be generously called, 'Apothecaries' are two such lures. But it is the undeniably fine craftsmanship of the Dwarves as well as the abundance of minerals from the earth that is the true treasure in such places......

Archivist's Note: Initiate Ursa, need I remind you again that here at the Royal Cartographical Archives, we deem to busy ourselves with the pursuit of facts.

The fantastical nature of your recent work is an endeavour better suited to charatantons and tellers of tall tales. This harmmonculus of a map that you have created is, by your own admission, compiled from the testimony of several, no doubt drunk, peddlers and vagrants.

Thus, as a map of an actual place, it is clearly no good to anyone.

You are overdue with your survey of the Realm of Thralia, you have until the new Moon to present it before me or you shall receive the most severe of beatings.

Hi all,

I am pleased to present to you our second large map for this month's theme of Ultimate Underdark, The Underground Market.

This is a large map with a lot of different sections and hidden details so hopefully will give your players plenty of room to move around.

Perfect for the ever enjoyable shopping trips, a respite from a long underground journey or perhaps a great jumping off point for a subterranean campaign. I mean I would 100% stick my players in one of the Slave Cells and go from there!

Let me know what you guys think and also what other Underdark inspired maps you want to see. The more you suggest, the more chance you have of getting it :D
