So, Marcus didn’t go to the vigil most likely because there was a big push to fire LGBTQIA+ teachers right before these events called the Briggs initiative. Marcus probably was still worried about the more “public” showing. Being in a bar? That could be explained. Actively marching with them? That would be harder.

you're right! it's so weird watching shows like this because, in some ways, times have NOT changed... but in other ways, we will NEVER know what it was like for them exactly
