yeeeahhh, i'm sorry if benji was hoping for something that wasn't inherently depressing. i wrote out a whole paragraph with background, but we don't have to drag all that shit onto patreon and i don't wanna seem like i'm trying to justify choices on the part of anne rice in particular. i think what i was trying to say was that the show is trying to address specific flaws in the works its based on, but also the core of the works are trauma bonding and grief. i get being tired of *that.* ngl it did take the wind out of my sails a little bit for watching what's coming next with y'all. just let me know if y'all are ok now that you've actually watched the series?

I feel a little bad Benji because I totally get it as a black bi woman that you wanna enjoy media without always having to worry about being oppressed, but also at the same time that is the truth to our stories, its a double edged sword. Idk if this has been talked about enough with yall but Louis in the books is not originally black nor set in this exact time period so I do think the show did a great job tackling that bc it wouldn't have made sense if they tried to do like 'race-blind' writing and stuff.
