Maybe it's the wine, but I'm surprised Rizzo didn't pick up on the W Anderson vibes of the movie date. The symmetry, the oversized and super small food, the lighting and colours, etc

I love how totally supportive Charlie is of Nick and his coming out process, especially since he himself was not given the option to come out how and when he wanted to. You can see the trauma of it and the bullying at every corner. He didn’t do well in school all of a sudden and I think it’s more likely that his depression got in his head and he chose to ignore everything else in his life and just immerse in the happy bubble with Nick to forget his pain. I’m really impressed with how Heartstopper, both show and comics, was written.
