I love how they made sure you could easily tell who the characters were and how alike they were to their children, great casting

My parents were born late 70s and even to this day they think tattoos are still taboo and reason for scandal, so the idea that these mamies would lose their shit with the fear of someone finding out about their secret tattoos in the 90s, totally believable, and relatable.

they were very like the adult actors too. whoever was playing young sarah especially nailed the facial expressions. i really liked that scene where they're cutting back and forth between the 70's versions and the 90's versions of the characters dancing, everybody did such a good job

piercings too, tbh. my first jobs in the early 2000's, some of them didn't even want me to have more than two pairs of ear piercings. like, having my lobes double pierced was too edgy for a professional image. fortunately, by the time i got a lip piercing i was working at a bookstore and no one cared, but i had friends who had to take out facial piercings or put a bandaid over 'em, which looked way worse imho.
