I think one thing I really like about the show is that you can kind of empathize with everyone, their troubles, and when they're making good points, but it also doesn't spare any character the full force of their flaws! lol

Some general info about Derry and the Troubles: There's been violence in Derry for almost 400 years. It's a mix between religious (Catholics and Protestants) conflict and political (nationalist / republicans and democratic rebels) conflict. The Troubles took place from 1968-1998. I believe this show starts in '94, so it's the tail end of the Troubles. You may be familiar with Bloody Sunday. That happened in Derry in 1972 and was a massacre of civil rights protestors by the British regiment stationed there. Love your reactions!
