I know it was a throwaway comment from Benji but Malakai dropping basketball isn't really going to affect his uni prospects. If he could prove that he was competing at an Elite Athlete level and it therefore had an impact on his studies he could have gotten a bonus 5 points on his ATAR (The uni admission rank for NSW, the state Sydney is in) but he didn't seem to be competing at that level yet or interested in competing at that level. Uni here is wayyyyyyy cheaper and you can have the government pay via an interest free loan that you only start paying it back once you reach a set income threshold.
