The NB/trans representation with Nimona is my fav part. Love how ND Stevenson wrote the script to explain how it feels. Plus the outcast trope is one many can relate to

Nimona is a queer web comic/graphic novel created by ND Stevenson. He is a trans man who also created She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (another dope ass queer, mostly sapphic, show on Netflix). ND, also known as Nate, made them back when he identified as a lesbian, but he credits writing a non-binary character, Double Trouble, on She-Ra and Nimona as helping him realize that he is trans. He says Nimona is definitely a trans allegory, even if he didn't realize it at the time, because he was still coming to grips with who he was himself. He tried to infuse that message into the movie more plainly though. I thank all that is holy that Disney dropped producing Nimona, because they would have ruined it, imo. They would've straight-washed this completely or made the queerness invisible. I also have problems with making the queer person/minority the villain when they're a genuine threat or have reason to be mistrusted (one of the reasons I'm not a fan of the movie Zootopia).
