DV victims leave their abusive partner an average of 7 times before they leave for good, unfortunately. The best thing to do is just be supportive of the victim and let them know they will have a safe place to go to if/when they leave. Otherwise, trying to convince them to leave when they don’t want to makes things worse because then they get defensive and attach to the perpetrator more. Identify the bad behaviour as bad though, that’s good

My friend recently got back together with her baby daddy/abuser that has not had a job in 3 years (at 29 years old), is a violent felon for beating the shit outta her in front of they kids (2 and 9 mos), can't/doesn't watch his and her kids alone, tells her what she can/cannot wear, and only recently stopped using his premium Grindr account ($20 a month which is more than he pays for rent...because only she pays rent)🤡 As a friend I HAD to take a step back because just a week after the Grindr incident, she came over with a brand new necklace and hickey right in the middle of her neck:) the situation is still fresh so let me not get too nasty, but the cycle kenya explained is too fucking real y'all. and letting it be is the hardest but truest shit when it comes to these situations. there is literally nothing anyone can do or say to get through to her.

My heart hurts for Keke. It takes a victim 7 times to leave their abuser on average. The emotional and psychological damage the abuse has done has trapped her in his cycle. She has a child with him, and women are pressured to stay with their children's father. The baby being a boy could also play part. Mothers' of sons get a harsher pressure of "every son needs a father, he needs a male role model" not understanding he needs a healthy role model that won't abuse him and his mother. Now that he knows about those cameras, I fear that she won't be able to collect evidence as well as she did in case she's able to escape again, God willing.

I'm glad you brought up the fact that she had to post him and its because this is the second time they popped out. I don't follow that man but I know he posted them on a hike together recently. Everyone was like oh you see he posted it and not her this is the result of those comments. She had no choice but to post him because it basically shuts all of them up. i learned my lesson with trying to help someone in abusive relationship and you literally just have to let them be and decide that THEY are ready to go. nothing you say or try to do is ever going to get through if THEY are not ready. also, i love keith lee's content because i find him endearing and i just love food content in general but i do agree that he is not the peak of food criticism that we should go to for advice on fine dining 😭 i think he likes what he likes and he just wants to try different variations of that wherever he can and that's what works for him. i honestly just think the majority of people shitting on him are jealous like you said...... but also, that food in DC really is trash 😭 been there countless times and never had anything i was wowed by
