One of the rules I set for myself for the models I make here was "no assembly required". After some consideration I decided to break that rule for mounted units. I just figured that the only way to keep the printing supportless and make those hanging legs in stirrups is to break the rider model apart and print the bottom part upside-down. This also opens the possibility of modular models.

So here it is, a first two-part mounted knight, with a variant on foot. There is also a new version of a supportless horse dressed in a caparison, which should be easier to print in FDM than the original horse, because the caparison reinforces legs which for some of you  were prone to snapping while printing.

Would love to see more mounted figs done this way. I printed up several of these and print and assemble nicely. Would love to see some Saracen mounted figures.
