...the party followed the mine tracks which ended up in a cave, littered with mine carts and crates full of ore. The cave was lit up by a fire burning in a big ornate mantelpiece. Apart from sharp spikes sticking oddly in the middle of the cave, there was one other item standing next to the fireplace - an iron maiden, with its doors ajar.

So, remember, a long, long time ago, back in late January, I announced a terrain competition for terrain built using PBT terrain. There were 4 submissions, so they all got a prize, custom terrain piece requests. And here they are, from Evan, Gladmirth, Nick and Lilian. I really like the variety of uses, from building a house, using bits for other terrain projects and a diorama.

So, here's some supportless printable terrain bits:

  • Mine carts, mine tracks and some crates with pickaxes and ore. There is a straight and curved mine track, they are made so that they interlock to make a long long minecart ride. The mine cart bottom is printed supportless upside-down as in the STL. The minecart parts have holes in them, you can use a 5mm bit of tooth pick to hold them in place. The top minecart parts can serve as crates on their own.

  • A fireplace/mantelpiece with a base that can hide a led tealight stripped of it's cover (see picture). I'm pretty sure most tealights are built the same way and can be easily disassembled so that they fit in the mantelpiece base. The base is also 2x2 in so it can fit in Openlock terrain.

  • An iron maiden with doors that open. I think this is the first print-in-place model with moving parts that I released.

  • A spiky obstacle for archers to hide behind.

All available in the repository (new link!).

Happy printing and thank you for your support!

Next: some grim future.
