- No Haven
Well that was fun.
To cut a long story short I lost my mind, wait no that's Spandau Ballet.
Okay what actually happened is that I had this whole overly ambitious plan for the Emmisary rework. Had to face the fact that it was way, way too much to be finished anytime soon so most of this week ended up being stripping it back out again, making sure I hadn't broken anything by doing do as it was tieing into a bunch of other mechanics, and pretty much starting over from scratch with that rework.
Least some of the text was salvagable for the simpler more sensible version so that was nice.
Who knows maybe some of that rather mad version will return at least in part in the Twine version someday.
Basic upshot is that the final Hotfix for this update (that should also be the public release) is now looking like landing somewhere in the middle of next week.
Also an argument could be made I did actually lose my mind by letting the lovely patrons on the discord have an inbuilt dice roller, but that's a whole other story all together.
- The No Haven Conversion / Picarto Streams
Got most of the streams done so that was a success. In fact only one I missed was due to Picarto playing silly buggers for a couple of hours before then it decided to start working again.
Made some really good progress. In fact I was able to completely finish the work I was doing with the validator so there's no errors or even warnings now.
After that I got into testing again, and quickly realised I was going to tackle a bunch of RAGS loops I had just made if conditions with the idea that'd be temporary while doing the initial conversion work. Turned out to be no where near as long as I suspected, and that's already mostly done from what I can work out.
Won't be able to stream anyway tomorrow night due to an unavoidable going outside commitment (the horror, the horror...), and so with the hotfix still outstanding might as well cancel this week's streams, which as a plus will mean I'll be much more likely to get that done.
However I will be making most if not all of those streaming hours back as in addition to the normal ones resuming from next Thursday, I'll also being doing one for all of Eurovision next Saturday. Better get some drinks in for the full experience.
- Commissions
January+February - They Choose You + A Taste of Glory : Oh dear. Okay at least I have evidence the artist who is supposed to be doing Taste of Glory is alive. I suspect they're just knackered though which is keeping them from replying to my emails. They Choose You continues to be a headache. Might try an entirely new artist for that one.
March - Sudden Betrayal : Seen some more progress since the last one of these. Artist has really nailed the smug sense of superiority in the first part.
Commission poll is running a bit longer into this month that usual due to how late it went up last time. So with just two days left this is how it's looking:
Well this makes a change as not only was there no landslide this time, but so close to the finish line it's actually level!
Also for once the higher tiers are making a difference as the winners of the main poll and the winner of the Direction lads and lasses both aren't the ones that are actually on top.
Given I ended up arranging Sudden Betrayal a week before the last poll ended as it was that blatant I wouldn't need to worry about a late update this is really dang neat by comparison.
As always I hope that was worth the read, and thanks again for your patience and support!
