Well I knew deciding to focus more on the conversion this year was going to be rough and somewhat disruptive both with the streams and the extra working out I need to do offline, but this was far rougher than expected to put it lightly both in terms of time management and the patreon.

I seriously appreciate those have you that have stuck with me, and to start this one off I'm making two commitments.

1) My aim is to have the Twine version be playable by the end of the year. This just needs to happen for so many reasons that I could be here all day.

2) The next update of No Haven will be out by the end of this month at the very latest.

Speaking of which.

  • No Haven

To wet your whistle on the next update this is how the patch notes for 0.97 are currently looking. There's likely some extra stuff and details that I've not included in there yet so this is very much still a work in progress, and it doesn't include the bug fixing as that's always last and is thus the most currently in flux, but should give a better idea of what's coming that what I've mentioned before.

Patrons who are waiting for stuff. First appologies for the wait so far, but also do please let me know if you see anything below that you think should be in there and that I might have missed.

-New Assignments:
---A new Uncommon City of Aversol Assignment and a new Training path in Neko Training. Linked these as the before and after commission is for the one and then the other. The Training can provide a crafter outfit like Ponygirl Training.
---A new Training path about making them better at the Bedwarmer and Head Slave roles. Has a commission that was generously funded by a patron.
---A new Uncommon Great Plains Assignment based on scavenging an abandoned mine and the various things that might be found in such a place. Uses a previously included as an Examine commission.
---A new Rare Deep Mountains Assignment as another branch off from the Foray storyline. Uses a previously included as an Examine commission though this Assignment uses the full piece.
---A new special Assignment with a findable Unique which continues one of the Marshlands storylines. Has a commission for it generously provided by a patron.
-New Commissions:
---Dwarfs. Used for a Feminine Male, Female, Succubus, and Demi-Angel starting portrait. Will also be used as Examines.
---The Unlockable Location. This will replace all the existing placeholder art used at that location barring the Arena which already has a commission, and the current placeholders for two of the characters you meet there when you first unlock the area.
-Taggerfolk:
---New race of Beastkin, available as all possible genders. Can be played (with Fav/Unf specific to them), can be slavers, and can also be slaves.
---Has their own commission with different variations for gender and also uses the Decadence Like No Other with variations for slaves.
---Has a new racial for them.
---Has a recruitable Unique using a crop of the main examine. Also comes with a new Sea Elf male start who brings her along when not put through Full Custom.
-The Arrogance Storyline:
---This is getting continued not by new Assignments but by special events that can take place at Finish Day when you have the required Uniques present in the Encampment.
---This has various options, and is based on various factors, so that you have some control over how the various events play out, can change the two Uniques in various ways, and how about another various cause why not.
-Weapons:
---Now slavers you start with and recruit come with a description of what they use when they go off on Marauding Assignments.
---These are for description and extra characterization rather than having mechanical effect. They however can change based on mechanical changes. Notably the buyable slaver upgrades.
---These are based on their race, traits, height, and the buyable slaver upgrades. Does more to explore the character of several races via the various implements that they like to carry around when they go out to kick some bottom.

  • The No Haven Conversion / Picarto Streams

I did indeed fix the nasty recursion issues mentioned last time. I've also managed to keep the unbroken streak going of doing a stream every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday so I'm really happy about that.

Not been all sunshine and roses. Next up was discovering my initial go at how to do the loops for the slaver selection on assignments was never going to work. So most of the streams since the last one of these have been taken up with fixing that pretty much going assignment by assignment.

That thankfully now has been solved and seems to work. Next it's on to the next wall of red errors which hopefully I can solve without as much steam escaping from ears like what happened on the last Tuesday one.

As part of ramping back up the streams I realised the old 'Welcome', 'Will be Back Soon', 'Thanks for Watching', and 'Offline' screens were no longer fit for purpose and these have now been updated to be slideshows using a whole bunch of the commissions for the game.

July+August - Snakes on Wheels : It's done. Starli said 'god, I want to hang this art over the bed in a frame' so I think she likes the result of what she did on this one :D

September - Mistress-of-Torments : It's done, and it's amazing. Significant upgrade over the existing placeholder, and I'll be posting that one here tomorrow.

November+December - Changing Places + Dance the Night Away + Coastal Corsairs : Coastal Corsairs is fully confirmed as of today, and Dance the Night Away at last seems to be progressing. Gave up on the first artist for Changing Places  and now I'm trying another to get that one done.

January - Victims of Forest Goblins : Already confirmed this one so that's nice given how some of the last batch have been dragging themselves out.

New commission poll will be up on Saturday. Was going to be tomorrow, but Mistress-of-Torments most definitely takes priority cause it's soo good. Must not overhype I know, but I really do dig this one.

As always I hope that was worth the read, and thanks again for your support!

Hey, love the game, just wanted to say I can't seem to find House of Ill Repute at all even though you said it should be fairly common in the Deep Mountains? Not sure if it's a bug or if my rng has been super unlucky.

bedlamgames

I've had several people say they've played it so might just be rng? Odd though as it is a Common assignment

I'll keep looking, then! Thanks for the feedback!
