- No Haven
Update came out for patrons.
Still do reckon that I'm about a week off from where I was hoping to be from what I talked about in the last fortnightly in terms of the planned hotfixes. Of the three bits of patron content I mentioned still to be done for the update one is entirely done, and the two others are at various stages. I've also got a metric ton of bugs to get through so probably looking at Sunday-Tuesday, and still planning to get the rest done i.e. the commission based assignments with the tavern/town improvements by the week after that.
However I have done one thing that wasn't originally on the books. On the discord there's been a highly entertaining No Haven Let's Play on Hardcore, and along with being a lot of fun to follow as people there vote on various choices, it's also resulted in some good conversations about the game.
One was about the frustration that can be Standard assignments eating slavers which I decided to do something about. I then ended up doing quite a bit more on top of that, and I'll just quote the hotfix notes for that bit so you can see what I've done as that's seems the easiest way to convey what's changed here.
-Removal Overhaul
---There's now a base 75% chance for something else to happen if a slaver would before have been removed from the encampment on an assignment. This will only apply if there was a risk of being wounded instead. Automatic removals where there's no way to avoid it will still apply as before
--- This can either be gaining Cowardly, Heroic, Sex Addict, Unruly, Peaceful+Sympathetic, or the slaver refusing outright to return to that Region. All of those come with a extra hit of morale loss. If gaining a trait that will lose a trait slot.
---Can get more than one Region blocked, but not the same one twice. It's also not possible to get the Great Plains blocked (also not the Deep Mountains in the Lady of Many Feathers scenario). The unlockable region counts as Deep Mountains for the purpose of these.
---Golems, Wrights, and those already Obedient or Heroic are not likely to be so shaken and so will be removed as before.
---If the slaver has a trait that would not be compatible with the alternative result such as having Follower for Unruly or Reserved for Sex Addict they will be removed as before.
---If the slaver later gains Heroic, Obedient, or are made a slave they can ignore any Region blocking they may have got from these alternatives to being removed.
---Slavers with Unruly now take additional moral loss if the normal base Encampment morale change is in the negatives.
---It is now much easier to Dismiss a slaver with Cowardly, Sympathetic, or has got one of the new Region blocks.
---Added a new save on Standard assignments to greatly increase the chance that the slaver will be wounded instead. To preserve some of ol' Scout the Deep Mountains bite it will Badly Wound now.
---Increased the existing save for removals to woundings on Crits/Successes by a bit.
- The No Haven Conversion / Picarto Streams
Wins keep one coming for the conversion as on the last stream I was able to get to the end of the Quick Start, and was able to generate an encampment. Now there's some teething issues like how for some reason it's only generating every other character, which is literally very odd, but still a nice step forward along in getting the conversion to work.
It's also handy having actual generated data to be able to finish off the UI work.
- Commissions
Art-pocolypse turned into a full on Art-olanche which has been so very wonderful. There's another one too that has been one here due to being a patron submitted one. That's been on the discord, and I'll likely stick it on the Twitter/Pixiv tomorrow morning. Really so dang neat composition.
November + December Commission Poll - Word in your Ear: No activity.
January + February Commission Poll - Profane Ritual: Got done. Not everyone's cup of tea, but generally went over really well. Also yay all NH races represented with at least one commission!
January + February Commission Poll -Darker Desires aka Fending off Naughty Humans: Got done, still love it.
The Veil: Not so much with the daily updates, but still progressing nicely.
Alternative March Commission Poll - Endurance Training: Confirmed with an artist and should be starting in a couple of days. We talked it over and it turned out to be possible to show more of the mount so that's going to be a fun chance to have another suitably freakier NH creature rather than just your standard horse.
For Want of a Hoe and Obedience Training : Both got done, and both lovely promising starts for new artists. Definitely going to be trying them again in future.
March+April commission poll is now over, and Some Enchanted Nightmare won.
For those who didn't see that one the pitch was:
A Shadow Outcast with flowers in her hair, loose flowy dress, and riding sidesaddle upon a pristine white unicorn, as her similiarly attired and even more innocent looking blonde Human Commoner followers walk at her side as they listens to the honeyed words of natural spiritual harmony, and one bends over to pick some more flowers. A glimpse at the water they're walking by reveals the much darker truth as while the elf is much the same outside of that her beautific smile is now looking a lot more sinister what with her actually being seriously Depraved, the unicorn is shown to be a dark monstrous abomination of a steed with many tentacles where it's head should be including one to violate the ass of the one follower who is bending over, while the not so innocent anymore followers are revealed to be wearing something much more lewd and cult-like including blindfolds. Idea being that in the result the two scenes would be switched with the truth revealed and the lie now shimmering in the water.
So that's going to be an interesting challenge for whatever artist I end up going with on that one.
As always I hope that was worth the read, and thanks again for your support!
