Chill part of the month compared to the hecticness of the last couple of months is officially over, and it's back into full on get the monthly update out mode.
  • No Haven

First thing I decided to tackle for the update was that Sea Elves really were just kind of there, and as I thought I'd have them involved in the discord assignment, I've given them a thorough overhaul. New art compositions for the ladies, futanari, and slaves, and the scholar's bit of their lore has been expanded by a couple of paragraphs. 

Next up has been the leadership challenges to expand off the functionality introduced in QAYL where a second-in-command could take control. I'm going to open this up more as an alternative to the current game over with more options and outcomes. Due to now having the proper repercussions this will also open up the possibility for you to become a sissy or bimbo from corruption which currently is locked to others only. 

This will also need the big chunk of content that I teased on the discord yesterday. People weren't keen on the empty portrait so this is my solution to sort that. 

What I thought I could do was use the race examines as an appropriate source to fill in slaver portraits. Counting the Convent as one race there's 63 in the game right now so even ruling out unsuitable races like Wisps and Driders there's still plenty to get through. 

Quickly worked out though that some weren't suitable as I'm not at all keen on the current composition like lady Human Nobles, the face is obscured like male Fallen, or I'd already used the examine and portrait together like the male Fancy, and so now I've done over half of the races I'd say about half have entirely new portraits. This will mean that for the first time certain races and gender combinations like Asanei, Lizardmen, and Centaurs will be playable. 

This will either be an interesting challenge if you want to set this up via regular gameplay. Though if you want to skip that I thought all these alternate starts will be a good bonus to include with the TF edition. These won't have the same level of details as the usual starts, as I've already got 53 of them done with over 40 to do, so my thinking is they will have a set generic lot of traits for all of them outside of what is race appropriate (like centaurs having fleet and harpies flying) and will have set descriptions for their hair and eyes only. You will though of course still be able to fully customize them if you choose to do so. 

Unrelated but ended up being part of this is that I've been meaning to make Orkhai a playable option for absolutely aaaaages, and this seems like a good time to knock that out as I'm doing a ton of new starts anyway. They'll get both male and lady starts, will have a different starting bonus than the other races, and have their own specific discounts for full custom traits. 

  • Whorelock's Revenge 

Update seems to be going over well which is wonderful, as I'll admit I'd been concerned that I'd been wasting my time to some extent on it outside of it being streaming fodder and a good learning experience. 

Plan is to do a testing stream tonight, and aim to put out the update after the stream if I'm still awake. If not tomorrow sometime, and aiming to get the update out to everyone else by the weekend. 

After that I'm planning to tackle the goblin and dwarf areas of the dungeon, then it's the human, trolls, and final area. When that's done it's just searching, arcane portals, the meetable special characters, and bringing back the special items and the game will be past the RAGS version. 

  • Commissions 

Seen colours for the True Angel and it's mostly done that I'd be very surprised that you don't see it soon. 

Got a lovely pair of bonus pieces courtesy of one of my patrons that will be both a playable character and a unique. I'll put those up later today here and on the tumblr. 

Poll is still up for the next batch though there's definitely at this point a runaway leader. 

  • HMV

New HMV is reckon is somewhere between 70-90% done? I have an entirely complete timeline which is a plus in terms of progress. Not keen on all of that filling though, and there's a lot of editing, tightening, and general snazziness to do.

What I'm going to try to start off with doing based on what has been said so far is aiming to stream to do very specific work on No Haven that will all be contained into a single part where I wouldn't need to jump around to other parts which should hopefully not cause the usual RAGS 3 crashes or nasty slowdowns. 

Will try it out tomorrow, and if that goes well I'll try to do more of those in future.

Are you still planning on connecting Whorelocks and No Haven?

Now that for now at least is the one casualty of not keeping WR in RAGS. I would like to connect them ideally sometime eventually still though
