Greetings Patrons,

I have a notebook that I keep by my desk that had the word "statues" written on the open page. It was circled. I don't remember writing it, but - if I circle anything, that usually means something to future me.

From the idea of the statue, I started sketching out a room in a museum. Room tones, distant torches, a nice hollow wind. But then what? I thought about the excellent Dr. Who episode with the weeping angels (terrifying!). I didn't really want to do outright horror, but I liked the idea of statues that moved. Maybe the plinths simply rotated? That could make a cool vibe and also a possible puzzle room scenario. I went with that.

Musically, I wa thinking a cross between majestic (angels, after all) and creepy. So, interspersed with choirs and the lead alto melody I added some sound design-y noises and scrapes as well as some altered pitch elements.

As this is in patron-only sneak-peek mode (live on the site next week), I've included the mixed-version as well as ambience-only, and music-only versions. Additionally, I created 2 no-angels versions, which eliminate the rotating statue noises. And finally, I made a version that's more subdued by removing the melodic alto vocal line. I hope you find these useful.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

Great job! This has so many different uses and scenes, all of which are ominous and full of wonder or awe. I love it!

Tabletop Audio is one of the rare Audio libraries that respect that the human voice and narration comes first in a tabletop game and the sound files never overlap that. Great Great Work !
