New Ambience: Adventure Begins (Patreon)

Greetings Patrons,
This week's track is designed as an opening credits style piece. It's part 'title theme' and part expository. In a film or tv opening, this would be accompanied by images to introduce the viewer to the world. Here, the setting is described by the ambient sound design.
Musically, this is very 'widescreen'. It's a bold and positive beginning to something heroic. From the opening french horn melody to the harp glissandi and eventual string ostinati, it should feel, well, familiar. There's a bit of mood change in the middle - a brief downturn, followed by a gradual increase in energy. I was clearly watching some film in my head.
The original idea was that there was a lone rider on horseback who the camera followed as the music played. The rider would enter through large gates at the beginning, and the speed of the horse would change with the energy level of the music. In the end, I opted for a more generalized medieval city environment as a better story opener, but I kept the horseback version as well because I thought they both had their place.
As this is in patron-only sneak-peek mode, I've included the mixed-version (live on the site next week) as well as music-only, and ambience-only versions. As I mentioned above, I've also included a mixed and ambience-only version featuring the horseback ambience. I hope you find these useful.
Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.
Best,
Tim
