Greetings Patrons,

Before I introduce this track, just a short message to say that I'll be out of the studio next week for a much-needed trip to the shore with my family. So, there won't be a track next Wednesday. As I typically do, I'll be bringing my field recorder with me and hopefully, I'll find something other than waves to point it at (I've got lots of those!).

Now, on to the actual post!

This wonderful illustration by the Thai artist known as Grandfailure immediately captured my imagination. I've used lots of his work in the past but usually as an illustration of something I'd already done. This one inspired the whole idea.

In my mind, this library is in constant motion. The shelves move, the books whiz overhead, and papers and scrolls unfurl themselves presenting their contents to inquisitive visitors. It can be both fantasy and modern. Nothing about it roots it to a specific era.

Musically this is about magic and mystery. Effected piano takes center stage and the percussion, especially the metals, help keep everything slightly off-balance and moving.

The ambience is the interior of a massive library. The sounds of books and pages and echoes are everywhere.

As this is in sneak-peek mode for patrons I've included the mixed-version, as well as ambience-only, and music-only versions. Also, I created no-books versions of the mixed-track and ambience-only tracks.  This is basically an empty reverberant chamber that you could put anything in. It would make a good church or even an underground lair.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

This has a great classic Resident Evil feel to it. Very nice!

This is great! In one of my campaigns, one of my characters is a scholarly wizard from a place called "The Arcane Athenaeum". I didn't think anyone else would ever use the word "Athenaeum"! LOL... Great job with this one.
