Greetings Patrons,

I went back to space this week. Here's a slow, meditative underscore that I thought fit well with the idea of deep space and vast interstellar distances. The generation ship is a sci-fi trope that I've always loved: The survivors of a dying world set off on a journey to a destination so far away, that only their distant descendants will ever reach it.

Here, the massive central ship is tended to by smaller craft, zipping over its many miles long hull.

I've augmented the mostly synth score with a few orchestral instruments. Treated strings, french horns, and a fairly steady rhythmic element keep the track slowly marching forward.

For the engine sounds, I fed some heavily filtered analog noise (courtesy of my Moog Grandmother) into a giant sounding digital reverb unit and then layered it with another modulated noise track from a software synth. Then, even more layers!

This is in sneak-peek mode on the site, so I've included the mixed version, plus ambience-only, and music-only versions here, for patrons. The ambience-only track will be useful for a variety of space scenarios.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim
