Greetings patrons!

Hopefully your summer is going well. I'm just dropping you a quick note to let you know that there are a couple of new ambiences online at tabletopaudio.com. "Steampunk Airship" and "Medieval Battle".

A few weeks ago I released a track based on a  user request that I"ve been mulling over for some time - "Steampunk Airship". If brass goggles, spats, fob-watches and gears are your thing then you should get a kick out of this one.

I'm always amazed at how an idea for an ambience takes shape over time. For "Steampunk Airship" I started with the sound of propellers. I found some old library sounds of WWII era fighter planes idling and built up this whole Rube Goldberg-esque clockwork contraption until I realized that the propellers were totally the wrong type. I think I started this over 3 or 4 times before I got something I could believe in.

"Medieval Battle" came about because I was reading the Reddit RPG group and somebody was bemoaning my lack of battle sounds. "What?" I thought. "I've got loads of battle...wait a minute...oh..hmm..." Technically I do have battle sounds but one is WWII era, one is solo combat in an arena, another is a more musical track with some battle sounds in the very back. I didn't have a steel on steel, man vs. man pre-industrial clash. So here's a true battle ambience. The only musical elements are the in-battle drums and occasional war horns so this is a perfect candidate for layering with any soundtrack you wanted.

     Happy gaming!

best,

Tim
