Greetings Patrons,

My family and I have returned from our week in Montreal where we had a wonderful time, ate lots of delicious food and made a heroic attempt to speak as much French as possible. When the locals immediately answer you in English that means your French is amazing, right?

I had done most of the work on this new track before I left and my intention was to do a quick once over and release it when I got back, but , as always happens, something didn't seem quite right with it. The whole point of the Feywild is that it's both beautiful and dangerous. My original track didn't strike that balance.

After reading a lot of material online, and looking at artist's representations, I finally reworked the track into something that I thought approached that balance. The final piece has some natural wind and plant ambience in the background but I've included a version without that here for patrons.

Thank you all for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

I like the track, but I'd not think of it as of Feywild. The sinister element is nice, as Feywild should be, but it lacks some chaotic flavor to it, like sudden scream of weird bird or some peculiar sound out-of-place, maybe some pixie laughter that morphs into a sinister whisper. At least my feel of the Feywild would be something like that. Not an easy task I must admit. It's a great ambient though.

I hope you got to enjoy some poutine and Montreal smoked meat. Regarding the track: I love the balance of mysterious and lightly creepy without having jarring ambient references that distract from gameplay. Again thanks for the music track!!

I'm with Myron, I actually prefer tracks that don't have jarring elements in them because when I use them as a loop, that element rarely comes at an appropriate time. For example, I think Super Hero is a great track, but I think it's the one with a siren in it which is hard to work into a fantasy setting. There are other tracks with howling wolves, but they're not super loud which works fine.

I think this is the only track you've made that I don't really think resonates with the intended source. It just sounds way too creepy to me. The Feywild in my mind is much more mysterious, almost whimsical in its appearance. Prankster fairies, giant mushrooms, warping horizons, and overall just a sense of very strong emotions is what I think of, and this just sounds like an extremely wary trek through a dark cave. I hope someday you can get more of an "Alice in Wonderland" sort of track that fits more with that sense of the Feywild. For a good example of the type of music I think the Feywild would have, listen to "Oakvale" on the Fable soundtrack.
