New Ambience: Stables (Patreon)

Greetings Patrons,

I'm always looking for ambience ideas that have a wide range of appeal and utility. I think of them as sounds that have a lot of stories in them. 

Sometimes the sound is the story, and sometimes it's just the backdrop. An ambience can be as plain or exciting as what's going on in the foreground. This might be a story you're writing, a scene you're playing out at the table, or a random thought you're having while you listen.

This ambience, Stables, provides a backdrop for a space that was as omnipresent in history as the beloved tavern, although maybe less well represented. Horses were, after all,  the engine that powered civilization for so many years and a well run stable was crucial. I tried to create a busy space, full of animals in stalls, animals in the distance and humans going about their chores.

While working on this I imagined so many stories that could be set here. Plotting stable hands, overheard gossip, romantic trysts in the hayloft, sabotage, the list is probably endless. I added some background music which I thought helped glue the scene together, but have included an ambience-only version of the track for Patrons.
