Greetings Patrons,

I'm sure I'm not alone in being enthralled by Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag's illustrations in the excellent "Tales from the Loop". There is certainly something of an 80s zeitgeist happening in popular culture. His illustrations of quotidian suburban life juxtaposed with a cold (dare I say Scandinavian?) futurism have certainly struck a chord.

Maybe it's all of us 80s suburban kids finally growing up, having our own children and looking back fondly. Or maybe those images where always with us, even back then. I can still remember which button on my DIY handlebar control console fired the beam weapons.

This is a mostly musical ambience, although maybe a bit more abstract than my usual ones. I tried to create a tension between the dehumanizing technological 'music' and the more standard melodic fare.

I've also included a patron-only, higher bitrate version of the track that is just the music, attached to this post.

The background image in my above hasty attempt at mimicry was done by the excellent Joakim Oloffson

Thank you, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

I know this post is two years old but I just want to say that I *loved* Tales from the Loop so much! Nobody else I know has seen or even heard of it, so I was so thrilled to see this. Even if I don't have much use for it in a low-tech fantasy story... it's very nice to listen to. :) Thank you.
