Greetings Patrons,

Sometimes I start creating an ambience with no real goal in mind. I just start playing around with sounds and tones and see where if leads somewhere. Often it doesn't, and I'm left with a partial thing, maybe with one or two good ideas if I'm lucky. Sometimes, I get caught up in it and find it interesting enough to take it the full 10 minutes.

I've had this track finished for a few days now, and, to be honest, the thing keeping me from uploading was the name. I know, it's an abstract piece I could call it xtBs123 or something and that would have been fine. But, see, I just finished this crazy book by Blake Crouch called - wait for it - "Dark Matter" and although this really doesn't have anything to do with that, neither did the title of the book have much to do with the story, so all's fair in naming stuff.

If you haven't read the book and like page-turning, mind-bending sci-fi that's easy to read, I recommend it.

This track will be great for sci-fi stories and games but could definitely be used in horror and fantasy also. It's dark and brooding, but also has a majestic, grand vibe to it as well. Hope you like it!

As my kids are off school for spring break starting tomorrow, I'll be loading them up in our ancient volvo station wagon (New Yorker's don't drive much) and, fingers crossed, heading to North Carolina for the week.

I've got a new SoundPad starting to take shape that I'll be finishing up when I get back.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

best,

Tim

North Carolina...sounds like an opportunity to record some sounds....Insects, Rain on leaves, crackling barbeque or the clang of metal grills and all the coastal sounds as well.

WOW!! This will really add to my Numenéra games. It's exactly the kind of sounds i'm looking for. Thanks again for your great work Tim!!

I'm excited to listen to this track, but I don't see it on the site. Is it up? Or tucked away in one of the sound pads?
