Greetings Patrons,

I've implemented a new feature on the Custom SoundPad that I hope you'll find useful.  It's similar to the text filtering on the home page, but instead of a living keyword dictionary for each sound, it just filters by title.

For instance, if you type in 'rain', like the screenshot above, it shows you all the sounds, across all the SoundPads, that contain 'rain' in it.  Remember, it's not search, so it will also return (as above) the sound 'Toy Trains' as the letters r-a-i-n are present.  (And, when I make a sound called 'monkey brains' a 'rain' search will return that too! )

This is not meant to be a full featured keyword search, but a simple shortcut method of finding sounds by name.

I know quite a few of you have been asking for this for a while and I hope this works for you.

As usual, whenever I finish 3 days of code writing (I know, I'm slow) I'm dying to get back to audioland. So that's where I'm heading. Well, maybe not tonight :)

Thank you as always for your continuing support.

best,

Tim

Woot ! It's awesome !! That's really going to help when I look for an impromptu sound during a game. The Best RPG sound effects/ambiance website jut got even better !

A great tool! :) I'll just throw in a wild idea that might make this even better – I believe keys/letters have no other function on this page, so what if you could start writing without selecting the field, and a layer with written letters would appear on top of page? Usually just a few letters would be needed, so this would allow to access needed pieces extremely fast, and a single backspace/del could be used to erase whole written string. This would be great for all soundpads and ambients, especially so if you're going to add thematic tags (Tension, Action etc.) some day in future. And as always, I'm ready to help with the writing function if you decide to do such! Btw last time I checked, custom sounds menu was getting too big for mobile devices, so overflow-y: auto and max-height on container might be a good addition.

Interesting idea. And I'll check out the menu height issue.

Eh, I meant soundpad menu, not custom sounds. Sorry for that!
