This information only for Custom Content objects in Sims 4. For hairs, clothing, accessories it is different. I'm a objects creator, so I have no idea how it works for CAS creators. 🤔

This information also will be interested for people who would like to start create their own custom content for Sims 4.

🌷 1) What is LOD ? LOD standarts.

LOD - Level Of Details for any object in game.

Maximally close to EA standart - 2 000 polygons per one tile in game.

2 000 polygonal object - absoulutely safe for any PC/notebook with installed Sims 4.

Additional information about EA standarts.

Each game object has a few level of details (LODs), when you zoom in maximally close to the object - you see LOD 0, zoom out a little - LOD 1, etc.

Mesh information in s4studio. ⏬

LOD 0 - highest Level Of Details - max 2000 polygons,

LOD 1 - medium Level Of Details -  You need to split Lod 0 into 2. If your LOD 0 - 1800 polygons, your LOD 1 should be around 900 polygons.

LOD 2 - low Level Of Details - You need to split Lod 1 into 2. If your LOD 1 - 900 polygons, your LOD 2 should be around 450 polygons.

- How it works for objects with more than one tile in game?

For example, EA standarts for chair (x1 tile in game)  it is 2 000 polygons with texture 256 - 1000 pxl, for sofa (x3 tiles in game) = 6 000 polygons with texture 256 - 1000 pxl. and so on.

🌷 2) Textures standarts.

EA texture standart - 1024 x 1024 maximum for big objects, 512 x 512 for medium objects and 256 x 256 for small objects.

- How can I decide whether I need cc or not? 🤔

If you have slow notebook or PC you need to know information about polygons and texture size for all objects in game you are using.  Loading times in game will increase if you are using high polygonal or/and high textured CC.

- Are you following all EA standarts? 🤨

I'm following all EA standards only for TSR publication. BUT not for Patreon, because it doesn't give space for creativity when you’re limited in polygons and textures numbers.

I'm trying to minimize polygons as much as I can for my creations.
