I’m sure it’s not surprising why this page took so long to complete. Something that I constantly go back and forth on is how to approach background characters in crowded settings. Filling space in backgrounds is something I struggle with and that’s especially true for background characters, considering they require a modicum of detail more complex than simple shapes like chairs, desks, etc. Honestly, I'd prefer drawing very generic figured characters with next to no detail, simply to fill up space. The reason I decided against that here is because I wanted to emphasize how special the resort is, attracting guests from all kinds of places, and affecting their bodies in all the crazy ways I say the resort does. Wonder how many characters people will be able to recognize?

While I think I could have fill the first panel with more characters, I got really tired and was running on fumes after a while. I mean, despite all the detail and attention I gave them, they’re still background characters, included simply because it would feel awkward otherwise. I actually needed to psyche myself up and fully comic to it with this page. That said, I really need to take time one day to make a bunch of designs for background characters. I was able to fully commit to it here because all the characters are from various animes and games, so I had plenty of references. And I think, from here on, I might make it a point to include characters from a certain anime as extra whenever I can.
