Hey there, Oxdarock here!

Thanks everyone for another great month and the start of the holiday season! Unfortunately, I’m not one to celebrate the holidays, but I wish you all the best nonetheless! And now, some updates on what’s going on this month!

To start, on December 3rd, around 3AM EST (give or take), I’ll be streaming Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker Early Access! I’ll be streaming on and off the entire weekend until I’ve finished the story and I’ll also be hanging in Discord, so feel free to come hang with me on Twitch if you’re not busy! I’ve had experience with hectic expansion releases of this game, but with the recent popularity boom, it’s sure to be one hell of a derpy ride! Hope you guys look forward to it! (I know I will!)

Next, I might not get as much done art-wise this month. The expansion is one thing, but there’s also some stuff I’m setting up for the beginning of 2022, mostly involving my comics and what I intend to do going forward. The Patron Pick poll will also start a day later this month (due to the expansion release), so those of you who’d like to suggest a character will have one extra day to do so.

And lastly, although I haven’t accepted any new slots in a while (I’m probably gonna reduce the number I take to 2 or 3 after this batch), I’ve recently, and greatly, raised the prices of my commissions. Long story short, and nothing against those whose commissions I’ve finished this year, but I’m really unsatisfied with my previous pricing. If broken down hourly based on the prices I charged and the completion time, most of the time I’ve essentially been working below a livable wage, which I’m really not happy about, nor would it motivate me to take any new commissions. Thus, I’ve raised my pricing to better account for this. It’s definitely high, but it was either this, or I shut down commissions again, probably permanently.

That said, with the new price hike, I’ve also (finally) decided to introduce hourly pricing. There’s a couple of benefits to this. The first is that, when compared to static pricing, it’s the closest thing to a discount I can give without feeling terrible afterwards, as there are some instances where a commission takes less time than my initial estimate. It’s also a method of pricing that I’d be ok to do more dynamic things like comic commissions, since I can’t estimate a timeframe on those. The only downside is that I don’t really stream anymore these days, so there’s no way for a commissioner to monitor exactly how many hours it takes me to complete a picture. You’ll simply have to trust in my integrity as a person.

I’m still working on my current commission list and have already contacted the people who have a slot about the sudden price raise. Once again, I’m deeply sorry and appreciate your understanding.

Anyway, that’s all for now! The Suggestion Period post will be released soon, but other than that, happy holidays!
