I never really listened to Just B before nor was I planning to in the future, but damn Bain blew me away. He caught my eye at the very beginning but I already had so many I was rooting for so I couldn’t keep adding when I saw other good singers. Still though, I’ll be keeping my eye on him going forward and I may check out any covers he’s done. We need more singers like him in kpop especially with these new generation groups because either they’re hidden well or I feel like chemistry in the kpop industry has changed drastically with good dancers being front and center when chosen to debut rather than either ones that can do both really well or just really good vocalists. My standard of kpop vocalists are form older gens like Seungkwan, DK, Hui, Haechan, Keeho, entirety of A.C.E, Jongho, Jungkook, Kihyun, and others I can’t think of rn. I guess I kinda have high standards for vocalists especially because the way I see it is more strong vocalists are sacrificed for strong dancers and performers in most new gen groups. I’ve been finding it hard to get into any of these new gen groups because of that- because of this lack of balance or extraordinary talent that blows my mind away. To me that means, I’ll be stanning only older gen groups until I either move away from kpop in the future (which I doubt would happen) or my fave groups disband or something, forcing me to find new groups to Stan or Stan harder with groups I casually follow that are lower but still up there on my list of fave groups I love. That makes me sad. Wya all you trainees or potential trainees who have vocal experience prior to becoming a trainee or debuting? (I’m craving more of that - ones who may seek continued lessons even after debut or whatever but aren’t learning how to sing for the first time after debuting- but if this doesn’t happen eventually the well will dry up for me) (if that made any sense lol)

I personally would rather see more talented vocalists spread across current groups, new groups, and future groups rather than the growing number of talented dancers. I need the whole package. Kpop is just as auditory as it is visual so you can’t be sacrificing one for the other even if unintentionally (tho ig it still mainly comes down to individual preferences).
