I was about to murder yg that time coz Seunghun is my bias and I don't get him before why is he picking on him. Seing treasure now it seems for me that he really doesn't fit in treasure and Bx and him belongs to a more mature group.

Yukari

Sometimes they skip some performances because it would drag the show, but you can find the full cut performances on vlive and youtube (i think?). And I actually like yoshi's performance he slayed it, too bad they didn't show it

I know it's frustrating to watch what happened with Seunghun in this show. There were just a lot of other factors that were not mentioned in the show. YG, the producer, and YG as a company really put loyalty up there. Loyalty over talent. Even after all the controversies, BIGBANG, IKON, WINNER, SECHKIES, AKMU & all the older groups still stayed with the company, loyal AF. The facts are that BX & Seunghun were not YG originals, that already put them in a big disadvantage. They learned & trained from a different company in their early trainee years before getting into YG. Yes, they got into YG after auditioning but just like a real job, if your CV does not show loyalty, new employers will be very 'iffy' about your intentions. Having YG in your CV is already a big flex. The company want hard working YG fanatics, hence why almost all the members in Treasure either only trained under YG or was scouted by YG. Almost all the members really wanted to debut under YG and not just debut in general. For example: MIX-NINE was another show that YG created before Treasure Box and it failed horribly. Choi Hyun Suk and Junkyu participated and represented the YG company. Junkyu was eliminated while Hyunsuk was in the winning team, he was promised a debut but did not happen due to the other companies not letting the other winners train under YG. Even after the debut failure for Hyunsuk and after Junkyu was elimited, both trainees stayed in YG, did not lose heart or transferred to a different company or harbour any grudges against YG. That is loyalty. Side note, BX was in MIXNINE too. Bang Yedam and Mashiho stayed with YG since 2013. Haruto and his family are hardcore YG stans. Jaehyuk was scouted by almost all the famous companies yet he chose YG. Loyalty in YG is sacred. I blabber on everytime you post a vid. Sorry. I will stop from now on 😅

I've said before in earlier episodes that I rooted for Seunghun while the show was airing because I mean, the man is good looking and talented. He clearly could sing but yet why didn't YG acknowledge that? I've watched this episode quite a few times and I think I finally understand what YG meant when he said Seunghun was too much. If you look at the way Mashi sang, it seemed so effortless and casual, he was truly performing. Seunghun on the other hand, really tried very very hard to show off his vocals and I don't feel that same level of effortlessness from him (this was true for other performances too). Anyway looking at the vibe that Treasure has now, I am also of the belief that they had an idea of where they wanted to go with Treasure already back then, and both Seunghun and BX had a more mature vibe that I do think fits better with CIX than it does with Treasure. Although in BX's case, he would have been the top candidate for the group's low tone rapper given his skills and the years he trained if not for the fact that Haruto exists so he had it rough from the start too 🙈 That being said, there were plenty of rumours that both of them were offered the chance to make it into Magnum but turned it down and chose to leave YG together for CIX 🤷🏻‍♀️

Jera Angelica Magdale

Yeah, they were offered it but 'both held grudges' for not getting into original line-up. They then left for CIX. Almost everyone got offers after YGTB. Half of Treasure C went back to training. Them staying after YGTB and through the Sungri & B.I controversies is key👌🏼 shows loyalty and that's important for YG.

Hanny

Yeah. Mashi. I love his vocal tone. I love his rap tone. I love the lines his body cuts in space when he dances. I love his expressions, his confidence and how he can be sexy one minute and then cute the next. And to think there's another 11 members with overwhelming talent, I can't with this group tbh.

Yuke Yuke.

At first I was such a Silverboys (team A) stan, that no matter what, I hated YG opinion that did not support team A. But now that Ive watched it a few times more, I kinda know what YG meant. Seunghun was definitely very talented, but he seems too much at times. He couldve just sing it normally and still nail it, but he always push it a notch too much. But well, he's happy with Gon in CIX now... My silverboys babies~~

KIKILEE

I ACCIDENTLY DELETED YOUR PREVIOUS COMMENT BUT I WAS GONNA SAY THAT THOSE EPISODES HAD ME CRYING AND YA'LL WILL SEE. THEY DON'T MAKE IT EASY. AND SEUNGHUN IS MY BIAS AS WELL

KIKILEE

OHHHH no this is actually a super interesting take and I didn't think of this. It's like YG is a damn CULT LMAOOO. But I guess I can understand it in a way? It just sucks that it seems like that loyalty gets taken out on talent for no reason. I still think YG could praise BX and Seunghun from time to time ):

KIKILEE

I definitely love to shit on YG a lot but I am finally kind of understanding him in a way and with his criticism. Seunghun is talented in his own way but I guess that effortlessness as you said like with mashi is super crucial and important and you can tell seunghun really wanted praise so he gave 400% which could come across as forced. At the end of the day I still love him ):

KIKILEE

I'm kind of getting that way as well. I love to shit on YG ( lmao ) but he his quite smart and knows talent. And in some later episodes I watched I could see that when he chose specific members and gave them chances because he saw their potential. I admire him for actually seeing a diamond in the rough sort of speak!

Yarden00

Girl get ready for the next few episodes! hope you're stacked on tissues

Jera Angelica Magdale

YG Family, through thick or thin 🤣 I think they're looking for the whole package tbh. Loyalty AND talent because all the trainees who participated in YGTB have undeniable talents, loyalty was most likely the last factor they were looking for in this show & the attitude towards the pressure. Pressure makes diamonds! ALSO I STAN YG THE PRODUCER BECAUSE HE'S AWESOME AT MAKING ALL ROUNDER ARTISTS.

And the way Yg chooses Junghwan over Hyunsuk because he saw that his favorite Hyunsuk is not taking up the challenge. Even Seunghun in latter part they don't chose the area where they excel the most. Maybe yg wants trainees to bring it on.

By the way Seunghun's brother is a Yg producer. He was involve in slow motion

There is so many things behind the scenes and I hate that screen time was given to favorites and I understand cuts are made to fit it into the alloted time - you can see how they wanted to position specific people to make the group. re-watching the series, I see so many more things I missed in the past. You can see so many contradictions and all different POVs from producer to the main staff, age, talent, skill, potential, good looks, personality are all part of the process on how fair/unfair YHS and most music industries not just kpop can be. Hindsight, you can see that YHS had a specific idea in mind for the group; he took a risk and it backfired in a way big time with the line up he chose in episode 10 to people leaving and to creation of Magnum and also only being left with maybe 1 or 2 trainees by the end of 2019 that started on YGTB out of 29.

@JERA I agree - I hate the dude for being an asshole most of the time but I saw it too. I see how he is - how he is insanely stubborn he is, how calculating it is when it comes down to business, what he truly looks for in a debut ready group and how he is harsh for a reason. And yes, I think in other ways I can see how he values loyalty, hard work and fairness. You can get an idea of how much he values loyalty and how he treats the people he trusts. He established a sub label with PSY from PSYG, he launched a sub label for Tablo, he created The Black Label to be run by Teddy, made Seungri CEO of YGX Entertainment (that gave us X Academy in 2018).

@Nicole I hate the way he says it but the critiques are real; even the instructors and board at the evals have an eye for detail. There are other reasons I dislike the man but when it comes to a business he built - I mean I can't really fault him ( just hate the way he delivers the remarks, testing people all the time) I also agree - he already had an idea of what direction he wanted Treasure to go in - that being said in hindsight I think he made a big error with the original line up that he didn't truly realize would end up backfiring. Towards the end of the series, I think he wanted to go with the fresh, cute, sparkly, youthful boy-teen image. It was always going to be 2 Rappers, 3 Vocalists, 2 Dancers. I have my own theories and thoughts on certain people who were chosen in the line up - and why that mistake led to 2 people leaving the company the need for Magnum; which also created a problem with YGE losing pretty much all their trainees in 2019.

Mashiho and Yoshinori stole my heart~

Right so I said I wouldn’t write a comment each episode since episode 3...I just relate so much and love your reaction I can’t help but- I felt the same way with Seunghun and Gon. For me, if I was to try the water overflowing reference that YHS made was maaaayybe (?) how Seunghun let his desperation spill into his performance??? Like you can feel that Hun wanted it so bad and I always cried whenever I saw him in YGTB at the time. With Gon I didn’t even get as much of a time to get so emotional because I don’t remember him having as much screen time even? I loved him in mixnine so I was rooting for Gon, but, yea, felt that YHS was putting him to the side or maybe it’s the show's editing idk...They’re together in CIX and are happy so that’s awesome. On a side note, I think Seunghun picked Mashi cause then 3 of Treasure A would be in the Treasure team if he won his battle. That was so sweet and thoughtful if so which I will continue to stand by. For Hyunsuk’s battle choice, I remember there was so much talk about it. I agree with you that it was that he chose dance instead of rap. I think he did that cause he was getting criticisms on his rap and felt more confident in his experience in his dancing compared to Junghwan. Proud of Hwannie and Suk anyways. All the battles were great with all the trainees showcasing and giving it their all. Made it real tough choices to pick who makes it. Fun fact: In early YG days, even before BIGBANG, YG artists were known to imitate YHS and poke fun at him. Even BLACKPINK’s Lisa has tried imitating him on Weekly Idol xD Would love to see the Treasure boys having their own clips being cheeky lol xP Sad I caught up so soon. Can’t wait for next episode! Thank you!

If it's with the main producer it would surely be YEDAM. YG already has it that Yedam will debut, this was just a challenged for him (my opinion only). I agree about Seunghun, he could have given him at least a compliment. i felt sorry for him here, but i guess YG feels that Seunghun is too mature for the concept that he has in mind for Treasure. I think its meant for Seunghun and BX to be in CIX. They are both good. Their training in YG would be great experience for them to succeed.
