I was thinking of doing a movie review for this edition of Mistress Speaks, but then I remembered not only is it the holiday season, but we have some interesting poll results to go over. So "Femdom at the Movies" will be shelved for a future month.

The data you fed me from my last Mistress Speaks poll was interesting, if not altogether surprising. The most common choice confirmed was discovering Femdom porn in your youth, which makes sense, since that's when most people discover porn. It's only gotten more prevalent with time as more Femdom media is produced. Discovering an attraction to dominant women and women in latex / leather early in life were also very popular responses.

A handful of you reported having a stern / aggressive / temperamental mother figure while only one of you reported having a cold / distant mother figure. Surprisingly few of you reported being spanked in your youth. Not what I expected, but probably a good thing.

Some of this data would lead one to think that this may be more nature at work than nurture after all, but that's a tricky conclusion to reach. We're dealing with a small sample size and human memory is, unfortunately, not very unreliable. People block out trauma from their youth or completely forget experiences that may have been formative all the time.

To the extent more Femdom erotica exists and women in fetish attire become more common in popular media, I can only see this as a good thing. It's exposing more people to and hopefully getting them interested in female domination. Whether people are developing an affinity, discovering it, or some combination of the two, will always fascinate me, but the important thing is Femdom tendencies are growing.

James recently discovered there's an entire warrior / enforcer class of Dominatrices in the Terry Goodkind fantasy series "The Sword of Truth." Neither of us has read the series, but we're thinking of giving it a go in the new year. I had a look at some clips of the TV series online.
